Tameer Towers in Abu Dhabi

The UAE capital city of Abu Dhabi is set to have another addition to its ever expanding skyline. The Tameer Towers development, designed by U.S architect Hilson Moran of Gensler and Structural Engineers, would be a premium mixed use development consisting of 6 buildings spanning over a land space of 465,000 square metres. It would be located on an exclusive area in Shams, between the Arabian Sea and a 1million square feet Central Park.

There would be 4 residential towers, a commercial tower, a 7-star-luxury-business hotel, stepped villas and townhouses, a private marina and a vibrant canal promenade.

The Landmark, Abu Dhabi

The Landmark, Abu Dhabi (UAE)Hardly do we get this confused about a project. The project in question is The Landmark in Abu Dhabi (UAE), which apparently, belongs to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (under Abu Dhabi’s Department of the President Affairs).

The Pelli Clarke Pelli designed 80+ storey building would be Abu Dhabi’s tallest spanning over 1,100 feet (335.28m).

Apart from the main contractors changing from Bauer Intl to Al Habtoor engineering, we have not been able to get our hands on rendered images of its side or back but can confirm (from the pictures below) that contruction has begun & gone above ground level already.

If you would like to track this project, we suggest you check out Al Habtoor Engineering’s official website.

ALDAR is slightly ahead of schedule and the first phase of it’s central market project and suggesting it will be finished by mid-2008.

Mushrif were awarded the 113 million dirham contract to complete Phase 1 of the project; the underground parking structures of Central Market. ALDAR’s strategy to secure early phase completion dates, using an integrated fast-track construction approach to this highly complex mixed-use development, was critical in choosing Mushrif, a multi-disciplined, civil and heavy engineering contractor.

The development’s massive excavation is now complete along with the majority of its substantial permanent pile foundations. The Souq foundations are complete, with the new construction works progressing upwards to the ground surface. One of the interesting facets of this construction project is the use of A DeltaBase 102, a double-head anchor drill rig for rotary and percussive drilling, featuring a special slewing-rotating mast operating in conjunction with the drill-feed carrier and swivel head via a scissor-action arrangement that enables the drill feed to deploy to the right or left of the machine body. The hydraulics are controlled using the latest load-sensing system.
