Thanks to Flickr users James E-R, galactic, SolarWind & mss2400 we’ve got our hands on a couple of the latest construction photos of the Trump Towers in Chicago at 401 N. Wabash Avenue in downtown Chicago, Illinois.
As at last Wednesday (12th March), level 66 (out of 92 levels) was poured in.
Construction which begun in 2005 is nearing its expected completion date of 2009 and would be expected to stand at a massive 415 metre (1,362 feet) making the multiple-use tower upon completion, the second tallest building in Chicago before the arrival of Chicago Spire in 2011.

Brookfield Properties’ Hudson Yards proposal in New York “aims to bring New York into the 21st Century.”
The MTA, in co-operation with the State and City of new York, issued a request for Proposals to regenerate and rejuvenate the active rail yards on Manhattan’s far west side. The ambitious plans include Galleries, cafés, a soaring gateway, and rolling meadows. Also included is a cultural center with plans for public performances.

The Chicago Spire is a supertall skyscraper under construction in Chicago, Illinois. The building was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and is being developed by Garrett Kelleher of Shelbourne Development Group, Inc. The Chicago Spire is scheduled to be completed in 2011 with 150 floors.

Construction on The Trump Soho Hotel-Condo was stopped last week after a fatal accident. A wooden scaffold workers were standing on to set concrete collapsed, causing a worker to fall 42 floors to his death, while another was lucky enough to be caught by the safety netting.
The company in charge of construction is Bovis Lend Lease, the project management arm of British building firm Bovis. This is not the first time Bovis have run into difficulties with accusations that the building is in fact illegal and should never have got planning permission in the first place. They have also run foul of the NY building code in the past on this site, and a stop work order was immediately issued along with at least four violations including:
- Failure to safeguard the public and property.
- Failure to maintain adequate housekeeping.
- Failure to provide a fire escape hatch.
- Failure to provide adequate fire extinguishers.
