
Whilst researching the Curvy Monroe building, we came across this innovatively wacky building – it is the HSB ‘Turning Torso’ in Malmö, Sweden. Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava based the tower’s design on a white marble sculpture of a ‘twisting’ human being.
It is a 53 storey building that spans about 190 metres (623 feet).

Malaysia has its fair share of stunning buildings that have managed to capture international attention. Kuala Lumpur’s Twin Towers for example are some of the worlds highest buildings. With a strong economy and many residential developments taking shape in Malaysia, one of the latest designs to impress is the approved Project 4 of Putrajaya.
Designed as a waterfront residential development the idea for the unusual shape and form of the buildings was derived from the ocean. Combining inspiration from marine life with a permeable radiating block of bio-climatic architecture, the residential structures also draw from traditional Islamic designs.

This quirky crystal shaped building is to be the Creative Media Centre of Hong Kong City University. Designed by New York based architects, Studio Daniel Libeskind in collaboration with Hong Kong based Leigh & Orange Architects, this iconic building is set to create an inspiring environment for creativity both externally and internally with its use of an extraordinary range of spaces rich in form, light and material.

The 18-floor Dubai waterfront residential building overlooking the Arabian Sea, is an imaginative and unique design that engulfs the facets of a trendy & technologically centred living with futuristic aesthetics.

This blobby shaped yet intricately designed building is to be Erdos Museum in Erdos City, Inner Monglia, China. Designed by the maestro design house, MAD design in 2007, Erdos Museum would span a total area of 41,227 sqm.

With a flourishing building boom, many new buildings are seemingly built overnight. Many of these leave us awestruck by their sheer beauty, innovative design and smart design.
Often these designs are thanks to an upstart designer architect who is gifted enough to make a difference in the way we can look at buildings.

Beijing Central Business District or the Beijing CBD is Beijing’s core business borough spread over a total area of 4 square kilometres in the eastern urban area of Beijing city.
Planned since 1993 and scheduled to be completed this year (before the Olympics), it is currently residing 3000 businesses constituting, 500 multinationals, 570 foreign representative branch offices, 150 international financial corporations & 200 intermediary service companies.

Beijing CBD comprises of over 10 million square metres of constructed real estate; 50% of which is office space, 25% apartments and the remainder 25% commercial and service oriented.
