Artists rendition of the B3C building
Massachusetts General Hospital is being demolished to make way for a new 530,000 square foot building. Named “The Building for the Third century,” or B3C, the estimated completion date is 2011/12.

These photos were taken over the last 18 months as demolition is being undertaken. Demolition firm, Costello Dismantling is undertaking the work. Due to the close proximity of other buildings and the fact that Mass General is still a fully operational hospital, the firm is taking the old construction apart almost brick by brick.
